    Morriss: Baltimore Street Redevelopment Not a Cure-All for Local Economy

    While city leaders continue to express optimism about the proposed Baltimore Street Redevelopment Project, Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss is suggesting that we may need to curb our enthusiasm somewhat. The $9.5 million project, which includes major infrastructure upgrades and a reopening to vehicular traffic, is tentatively scheduled for a groundbreaking ceremony in late summer. Appearing on WCBC’s ‘Dave Norman Show” Wednesday, Morriss said that while he believes the redesigned mall will provide a great boost for the local economy, that alone won’t provide all the answers…
